Christmas in Las Vegas

This is Tyler (on left), Brandon, and Ryan opening Christmas presents on Sunday, December 27th. Eric and Alicia and family came for 3 nights after Christmas (December 27, 28 and 29). Megan, Scott and Hannah were here early in the month (December 2nd through December 9th). Beau was here for Christmas day and stayed from December 23rd through January 2nd.

12/12/09 San Francisco's Union Square

Linda and I visited San Francisco for the weekend. It was beautiful with Christmas decorations and holiday shoppers. The rain only kept us in the indoor malls...with all the other shoppers who had the same idea. This tree is in Union Square. Our hotel, the Grand Hyatt, is the tall building in the background.

The Polar Express Train to the North Pole

This is the Polar Express Train in Williams, Arizona. On December 7th, Linda, Chuck, Megan, Scott and Hannah traveled through a blizzard to reach the Polar Express and the "North Pole." Santa visited with us on the train and gave Hannah the bell off of Rudolph's neck. The drive through the snow was pretty spectacular - 80 miles with tire chains on the car.

In November, 2009, Gail, Linda and Chuck went to San Francisco for a few days. This is Gail and Linda on the ferry going out to Alcatraz Island to visit the old prison.

On the Trail in Idyllwild

In the summer of 2008, Chuck, Eric, Ryan and Tyler hiked from the Palm Springs Tram across the mountain to Idyllwild. We slept one night on the trail.

Linda at Butchart Gardens

On our second trip through Washington and Oregon in 2009, we took a ferry ride over to Victoria and visited Butchart Gardens. The fall colors were spectacular.

In July, 2009, Linda and Chuck traveled to Europe with Courtney, our oldest granddaughter. This picture was taken on the MSC Lirica cruise ship during one of the formal dinners. We spent a week in Paris, a week in London, and two weeks on a cruise through Northern Europe. On the cruise, we visited Russia, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Estonia, Germany, and Sweden.
